Horticulture Credit Programs

The floriculture two-year associate degree specialization focuses on the production, handling, sale, and use of greenhouse crops, flower crops, bedding crops and foliage plants. Greenhouse crop production, floral design and indoor use of ornamental plants are emphasized. The landscaping two-year associate degree specialization focuses on the production, handling and use of woody ornamentals. Landscape designs, installation and maintenance are among the operations and practices covered. The nursery management two-year associate degree specialization focuses on the production, handling, sale and use of woody ornamental plants. Propagation, planting, cultural practices, harvesting, packaging and shipping operations are covered as they relate to a garden shop or nursery. There are three one-year certificates of achievement consisting of Floriculture, Landscape Development and Nursery Management.
